Industrial hemp is grown organically in Ukraine without pesticides or herbicides. This plant does not need chemicals because it has its own natural defenses against pests. Therefore, your hemp items are safe for the skin and respiratory system. In addition, we do not dye the fibers or yarn, so you can enjoy their natural color.
Ukrainian seed varieties, developed by the Institute of Bast Crops of Ukraine, are the best in Europe for textile fiber. Our climate allows us to obtain excellent raw materials. After harvesting, hemp stalks are left on the field for retting (breaking down pectin to loosen fibers), then decorticated to separate the hurd and fiber. The long fibers are used for hemp yarn, and the short fibers are used as a filler for blankets.
Hemp treatment is labor-intensive. We use harvesters, hemp binders, threshers, scutchers, and combing machines.
And it’s worth all the effort! Hemp beds are always fresh and antiallergic, therefore recommended for newborns.

Washable in the washing machine, the material holds its structure well and is a bit heavier than synthetic or wool blankets.

For fabric production, only the softest fibers are required. Hemp is harvested before the seeds appear, then dried, water-retted, scutched, and combed many times to remove the hard, woody parts of the hemp hurd, separating the long fibers. For extra cleaning and straightening, hackling combs are used.
After carding, wet spinning production is used for yarn making. As there are no wet spinning yarn facilities in Ukraine, it is outsourced to Europe.
Weaving and finishing are done in Ukraine. We design various patterns for our fabrics and finish them by simply washing with soap to soften them; no chemicals or bleaching are involved – we keep it as natural as possible.
